Four Steps to Coaching Yourself to Greatness

You know you’re being called to step up and into the next brilliant chapter of your life right now don’t you?

Anything holding you back?

If you’re like me and have been on the so-called, “spiritual development” pathway for a few years, I’ll bet you’re completely fed up with overcoming yet another self-limiting belief, squashing those pesky self-sabotaging behaviours and uncovering those ancient fears that pop up every time you feel like you’re finally making progress.

We’re full of it aren’t we?

Well yes, and no. Yes because we are complex, flawed and multi-layered and no because we are amazing, resilient, here for a reason and it really is all good.

What’s required here is a shift of mindset around what it truly means to be a moderately enlightened person who has a great life, lots of friends, fun times, good health and laughter.

I’ve made some rapid and much appreciated leaps forward within my inner landscape these past few weeks and then more stuff rises to the surface right?

My dreams have been showing me a glitch that needs fixing before I can move ahead properly into my expanded business, my book being published and my face being on the cover of…well maybe not that.  But anyway, in these dreams, I’m attending events with my current mentors, having a great old time and then my children appear in the dream and they’re all thin and undernourished, or a washing line appears in front of me and I begin unpegging the washing. Strange? Well not really.

What I feel these dreams were revealing was a belief at the unconscious level that motherhood and career are incompatible.  I say ‘were’ because this morning on my beach walk I clarified it and transformed it. I used a technique created by the wonderful Dee Wallace where you simply claim out loud from your ‘I AM’ presence (higher self), whatever it is you would like to create.

I said something like this:

“I claim from my I AM presence in this moment of now that I am fully balanced, free, joyful and successful in my roles of mother, teacher, healer, wife, daughter, friend and in myself free of all roles. And so it is. Thank you”.  

Sound easy enough?

Here are some steps to get you there:

  1. Begin with an attitude of loving kindness for yourself. Try Louise Hay’s mirror exercise where you look into a mirror first thing in the morning and gazing into your eyes say, “I love you your name” at least three times. Keep this up until it feels true and then do it some more.
  2. Get to know what you really want to create in your life from what you most love doing.
  3. Know yourself well enough to be able to read your own dreams, listen to insights from within while meditating, or use journalling, painting, singing, dancing or walking as self-exploration tools.
  4. Understand and accept that you are the most powerful person in your life and if you want to make changes in how you live, then simply begin claiming want you want to create as a reality in the present moment.
