Are you ready to feel special, precious and loved?

Well, read on…

We all reach moments in our lives when we, sometimes quite inexplicably are ready to commit.

Commit to an exercise regime,a spiritual practice, a relationship or a perhaps a new way of thinking.

Sometimes the level of commitment required to deliver real positive results has been a long time coming and we spend years dancing around taking that final plunge.

So what’s holding you back?  Why are you resisting doing precisely what you know will bring you health, peace, focus, joy and success?

What I feel this is usually about is not feeling deserving.  If you truly and completely loved and valued yourself, would you have any trouble at all in making choices and commitments that you know serve your highest good?

No.  Very simply, no.

So first things first.  I’ll tell it to you straight:

You are the most valuable, sacred, special being on this planet.  You deserve all that is good, enjoyable and fulfilling in your life.  You represent the whole.  When each of us feel alive, joyful, healthy and happy, it lifts the energy of the entire planet.

Does that have you convinced? If not, read that last bit with your child, best friend, partner or pet in mind.  Now do you believe it?

So this is the first piece; feeling we deserve our joy.

Then we need to feel resonance with whatever it is we would like to commit to.  If all your friends do yoga but you hate it, please don’t make that your goal.  Make sure that whatever health regime, creative activity, spiritual path, study focus or work role you pursue as a commitment to yourself is something that makes your heart sing.

Life is too short and valuable to waste it following someone else’s path or living in fear of failing to achieve your own dreams.

My suggestions is to get the basics sorted out first.  That means your physical well-being.  First, love your body for where it’s at right now, treat it with tenderness, care and respect for all that it’s been for you over the years.  Cultivate a feeling of connection and reverence for the innate wisdom of your physical self and listen to what it wants.

Some of us are well suited to vigorous, strong forms of exercise and some, not so much.  Only you know, through feeling into your body and recalling from past experience what has felt good and enjoyable and what has felt either too easy or too hard, what your body needs.

The commitment piece comes a lot more easily when we love what we’re doing.  And yet it can still take some firm guidance from within.  I’m writing this knowing full well I still have lapses in my yoga and meditation practice.  I really truly want to do two yoga classes each week and yet it rarely happens.  Still, one is a good beginning, I can love myself for that.
